Gado-gado Cemara


I am craving for Gado-gado Cemara, Indonesian salad. I found this recipes from here , it is nice to eat this in the summer time.

Ingredients:

Cabbage ( boiled it for 3 minutes and drain)

String beans (boiled it for 3 minutes and drain)

Beans sprout (boiled for 1 minutes and drain)

Fried tofu, 3 boiled egg

3 boiled potato


Ingredients for sauce:
300 gr peanut butter
5 or more red chillies (crush it using blender)
2 lime leaves , 1 lemongrass
2 cm kencur ( gellingale powder) optional
4 table spoon tomato ketchup
2 table spoon kecap manis (sweet soy sauce)
6 shallots
4 garlic
1 tea spoon salt
1 can coconut milk
1/2 cup of water, 1/2 of Maggi block or any other brand for bouillon
oil, lime juice 3 tbsp


Method:

stir onion and garlic with oil in medium heat until fragrance, add all the ingredients for sauce, cook until done.

serve it with boiled vegetable.

Hehe - yeah, good point - if I don't look, I'll find it! I need to do a big cleanup over here - such a mess at home! The trip was great...and I'm going on another one this weekend - going to Australia for 2 weeks ;-)

As I remember gado-gado cemara is known by adding cashew nuts as peanut sauce instead of peanuts.

You should try it one day, and you will find the difference. Cashew nut sauce tastes better than peanut sauce
